Hello! It's wonderful to meet you. I would like to thank you for visiting. I have been a Greenville native for my entire life. I grew up here, went to school here, and now teach here. I have wanted to teach since I was in high school. With that goal in mind I attended East Carolina University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in History Education in 2008. I started out my teaching career in Hertford County teaching at the 9th grade academy in 2010. I taught World History there for one year before returning to Greenville to teach World History and Civics and Economics at Farmville High School. While I enjoyed my time teaching high school students I realized that wasn't my true calling within the teaching world. In 2012 I went back to East Carolina University to earn an add-on licensure for Elementary Education. From there I ventured out to Aurora to teach 4/5 Science and Social Studies at S.W. Snowden Elementary. I stayed there for three years and learned a lot about myself and about the difference between teaching Elementary and High School. From there I moved back to Greenville to teach at South Greenville for a year before coming to Ignite, where I believe I have found my teaching home. I have enjoyed my first year teaching Science and Social Studies to the 5th and 6th graders and was honored to be named the first Teacher of the Year for Ignite. I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know the students this coming school year.
